A Girl Called Trinity Page 2
“Thank you,” he said, in a small voice.
Trinity bowed to the spirit that was alive and well in this man, and said thanks to her God for being there and allowing her to be a channel of His healing grace.
With this first experience, Trinity grew more confident in her connection to the infinite power and allowed herself to transfer that energy wherever she could. A wilting flower in a pot perked up at her touch. A sad child in a schoolyard stopped crying when she walked by and started singing. A woman afraid of being sick felt the hand of Trinity on her brow and breathed the infinite inside herself, and was strong.
“I am blessed,” Trinity thought. “What a gift.”
It wasn’t until her own mother became sick that her gift was truly tested. Suddenly, it was personal. She came home and found her mother slumped in a chair, looking out at the yard with a vacant look on her face.
“Mom?” she asked, scared. “Mom, what is the matter?”
Her mother looked at her and said sadly that she was going to die. She had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Trinity cried and ran to hug her mother. “No, no, it can’t be!” she cried.
But her mother just held her tight and told her the medical tests had all confirmed this diagnosis. Sad as it was, her time on this earth was ending sooner than expected.
Trinity ran out into the garden and looked up at the sky. “Please God, help my mother,” she implored. “Please God. I love her so much.”
A brilliance appeared in the clouds and seemed to glow at her. Trinity knew God was there and that He heard her. But would He answer?
That night, she slept very lightly, wishing that her mother would be healed. If all the others had been healed by God, why not her?
But in a matter of a few months, her mother was gone. Passed away in the night.
Trinity wept. Her prayer had not been answered when she needed it most.
Just then a knock came at the door. Knock, knock, knock. She opened it and there stood Simon. He was dressed in his blue suit and carried his carved walking stick. He gestured to her to sit down and he put his arm around her shoulders.
“Trinity,” he said softly. “You have learned the hardest lesson of all.”
She was crying in his arms now. “Why?” she cried. “Why couldn’t God heal my mom?”
And then, she heard another knock at the door, a lighter tap. Knock, knock, knock.
She opened it and in came the spirit of her mother, dressed in silver and glowing. Her smile lit up the room.
“Trinity,” she smiled. “I am healed. I am in God’s realm now where the peace never ends. Thank you, my dear, for your prayers. God has made a special place for me here, carved out of Love.”
She embraced her daughter, and Trinity felt the Light flame through her veins like fire. She knew then that God answered all her prayers, although not quite the way she expected. The answer was always perfect.
